“I didn't know I could...”
Theater & dance
It is the Great Universal Council’s pleasure to invite you to the Extraordinary Assembly of Exceptional People, to be held at the Money Museum in Lisbon on 30 March 2024. We remind you that this meeting is secret and we may not reveal the agenda, for the sake of the safety of all people. We are expecting you, your presence is indispensable.
This show, co-produced and already presented at Lu.Ca Teatro, is a creative and intelligently adapted way of presenting the Declaration of the Rights of the Child to children. Adopted in 1959 by the United Nations General Assembly, and revised and expanded several times – always by adults (!) –, this declaration is unknown to many young people today. Through theatre, and in dialogue with the exhibition, Let us common citizens take the word and the initiative, the theatre company ‘Os Possessos’ aims to help children and young people know, defend and affirm their rights. Will they be prepared to democratically take on their duties as well?
