"A Rosa do Adro" by Georges Pallu
Cine-concert with Hibridux | +12 years old
1919 | Portugal | 76 min. | With Maria de Oliveira, Carlos Santos Erico Braga
Saturday, December 16 at 9:00 pm
Directed by Georges Pallu in 1919, “A Rosa do Adro” was Invicta Film’s first fiction feature film. Transposing Manuel Maria Rodrigues' 19th century novel to the beginning of the 20th century, the film tells the story of a love triangle played by Maria Oliveira, Carlos Santos and Erico Braga. With a “dreamy and singular character” script, the omnipresence of nature as a backdrop to the action and characters with “a certain innocently perverse or perversely innocent side” (João Bénard da Costa), “A Rosa do Adro” marks the beginning of the history of Portuguese cinema.
Premiered at Teatro Sá da Bandeira in Porto on July 16, 1919.
Once again, the Money Museum partners with the Salão Piolho initiative and presents the feature film by Georges Pallu "A Rosa do Adro", accompanied musically by Hibridux.
About Hibridux…
A musical project that arises from the creative fusion of Luís Peixoto - Dazkarieh, Ana Bacalhau, Júlio Pereira - and DJDeão - Charanga, Tem.pô, Eliseo Parra, Hibridux is the confluence of two pre-existing musical species in the traditional Portuguese electronic music scene. With a wide spectrum of styles, from melodic techno to dubstep, this unique species effortlessly harmonizes these aspects. Furthermore, it incorporates elements of the Iberian musical tradition into its genetic makeup, providing an innovative musical experience that is, at the same time, surprisingly familiar. A musical journey that challenges genre boundaries and expands horizons.
